SEC Media Days- Day 3
2010-07-23

7-23-10 Lee Ziemba, Josh Bynes and Aaron Savage joined head coach Gene Chizik on the 3rd and final day of SEC Media Days. The Tigers enter the season with an air of confidence in its 2nd year under the Chizik regime. The Tigers ended last season with a big overtime win in the Outback Bowl; but it’s the final drive of the Iron Bowl that fires the defense up. Most Tiger fans are ready to see new Quarterback Cameron Newton. the Florida transfer earned the starting job after spring practices but it hasn’t slowed his progress in the off-season.

The LSU Tigers come into the season with a more mature and experienced Jordan Jefferson at QB. The junior says he’s gotten a lot more accustomed to what the Quarterback position brings in both credit and blame. Head Coach Les Miles says he isn’t worried about the talk of him being on the “hot seat". He says the focus is getting his team to finish games, which is something the Tigers struggled with in several games last season. But if they can and are able to, Miles says "watch out for this team".

Tennessee’s Derek Dooley became the 3rd coach to make his debut at Media Days. Dooley is trying to clean up the Vols image after the short Lane Kiffin-era all-the-while trying field a talented but very young football team.
