Below you will find a listing of previous TV24 High School Football Games of the Week. We are pleased to have all of these games preserved forever on tape. We will gladly make availabler copies for purchase if you so desire. This is a great way to offer gifts of memories to former athletes, their parents or their extended family members. Sophomore QB Derek Thomas hit Charles McClain on a 24 yard TD pass with less than 3 minutes left to play to lift Oxford to the victory. Thomas was the TV24 Player of the Game after completing 14 of 26 pass attempts for 214 yards and 2 TD’s. Oxford’s win over Anniston was the first win for the Yellow Jackets under first-year head coach Josh Niblett.
9-2-05 Weaver 55 Munford 20
Weaver running back Shawn Green had a huge night in leading his team to the win. Green was the TV24 Player of the Game after rushing for 200 yards and 4 TD’s.
9-9-05 Jacksonville 9 Wellborn 7
Jacksonville scored 9 unanswered points in the second half, including 1 19 yard field goal with 2:28 remaining in the 4th quarter to come from behind to win 9-7. Jacksonville fullback Chris Redmon was named the TV24 Player of the Game after rushing for 106 yeards and 1 TD.
9-16-95 Oxford 17 Gadsden 14
Down 14-10 late in the 4th quarter, Oxford put together an impressive game-winning touchdown drive to pick up a key region victory. Oxford safety Charles McClain was named the TV24 Player of the Game.
9-23-05 Alexandria 41 Anniston 6
Alexandria running back Chris Evans rushed for 167 yards on 21 carries and was named the TV24 Player of the Game.
9-30-05 No Game (power outage at Weaver)
10-7-05 Cleburne County 33 Tallassee 0
Cleburne County’s Scott Hayes had a big night for the Tigers, rushing for 115 yards on 11 carries and scoring 2 TD’s. After averaging 10.4 yards per carry, Hayes was named the TV24 Player of the Game.
10-14-05 Weaver 21 Litchfield 14
For the second year in a row, these two teams met with a region title at stake. And the second year in a row the Bearcats came out on top securing back-to-back region championships for the first time in school history. Weaver running back Shawn Green rushed for 229 yeards and 2 TD’s and was named the TV24 Player of the Game.

10-28-05 Alexandria 31 Cleburne County 14
In a match-up of East Alabama rivals, Valley Cub running back Chris Evans had a great night for his team. Evans rushed for 136 yards and 2 TD’s and also threw for a touchdown in the win. Evans was named the TV24 Player of the Game. Both teams finished the regular season at 9-1 and went on to do well in the playoffs.
11-11-05 Alexandria 56 Haleyville 21
With Alexandria playing its normal conservative game in the valley, it was close until almost halftime. The turning point was a defensive play by Alexandria's Bryan Renforth as he stripped the football from Haleyville's Thomas Stamos and ran it in for the turnaround in this contest. In the second half, the Valley Cubs scored touchdowns on 5 of their next 6 possessions putting the game away. Evans ended the game just one touchdown and 224 yards short of Mac Campbell's single season school records. Because of his leadership, Alexandria Quarterback Jacob Welch was named the TV24 Player of the Game.
11-18-05 Cherokee County 43 Weaver 20
The Warriors and Bearcats met in the third round of the playoffs in the biggest game ever at Bearcat Stadium in Weaver. Cherokee County dominated on both sides of the ball en route to the victory. With the win, Cherokee County advanced to the North Alabama Championship Game, and eventually the Super 6.
