Saving Animals –Volunteer Effort or SAVE continues its effort to control the stray and abandoned pet population in East Alabama. The group helped send 63 cats and dogs to The Alabama Spay Neuter Clinic this morning. Six volunteers with SAVE turned out to help with the paperwork and handling of the animals. The non-profit helped raise money to pay for the animals to be spayed and neutered. Those animals will return tomorrow afternoon. Volunteer Millie Harris talks about the importance of controlling the pet population. SAVE is extending this program into December. Harris explains how the transport works. The cost through this program is $5 for cats and $10 for dogs.
