Beware of Counterfeit Bills in the Heflin Area

Wednesday, November 27, 2013

Heflin Police are warning of counterfeit currency in the area.  They’re warning folks to avoid accepting the fake money.  Police say they’ve seen several cases of counterfeit 5, 20, 50 and 100 dollar bills.  They remind you that a marker pen will not always detect a fake bill.  If the bill is washed, the pen will indicate it is a real bill.  Remember, if you accept counterfeit currency, you will be out that amount of money.
