JSU Makes History and Looks to Make More

Tuesday, December 3, 2013

The Jacksonville State football team notched a dominating and historic win on Saturday. The Gamecocks picked up their first post-season win on the FCS level with a 55-14 beatdown on Samford and now move on to the second round.

JSU dominated in every way possible rushing for 367 yards and holding the Bulldogs to just 93 yards on the ground. First year head coach Bill Clark says his team and coaching staff didn’t shy away from the challenge of bringing the school its first Division I playoff victory.

The Gamecocks now set their focus to the second round where they will play a rested and talented McNeese State. The 6th seeded Cowboys are 10 - 2 on the year with an offense that is averaging 51 points in their last three games.

The Gamecocks and Cowboys square off in Lake Charles, Louisiana this Saturday… Kickoff set for 6 pm.
