Alabama Lawmakers' Give Teachers Holiday Gifts $25 Limit
Are Alabama state lawmakers playing the part of the Grinch to those who want to give gifts to public school educators and school bus drivers? State ethics lawmakers are requiring practicality in end-of-the-year gift giving this season. The Alabama ethics law requires that holiday presents to school teachers and school bus drivers have no more than a $25 value. The gift limit to school teachers and school bus drivers is part of reforms. The Alabama ethics laws took effect in 2011 and passed in 2012. The gift limit for educators only applies to those who teach in a public school.
