Jacksonville Community Food Drive

Thursday, December 12, 2013

The church began sorting and handing out bags of food today.  They do this every year for Christmas, but this year, the Jacksonville Fire Fighter’s Association donated the food items they’ve been collecting since November.  Church volunteer Sandra Caldwell says the donation couldn’t have come at a better time.  St. Luke’s Rector, Michael Rich says the holiday season is the perfect time to remind people of the importance of giving year-round.  St. Luke’s also regularly feeds the community beans and rice through volunteers with Daughters of the King.
