Escapee: Alexander City

Friday, December 13, 2013

State Department of Corrections officials are searching for an inmate who escaped from a community-based facility in Alexander City.  Department spokesman Brian Corbett says 46-year-old John Earl Christian went missing from a minimum security facility where he worked as a van driver. Corbett says Christian was reported missing this morning after Phenix City called saying the van Christian drove was found empty with the doors locked. Authorities say Christian was missing during a head count, and the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force is helping to find him. Christian was serving a life sentence for robbery in Jefferson County.
