Renew Our Rivers

Alabama Power vice president Matt Bowden says more than 5,700 volunteers in 32 communities across the state partnered with power company employees to clean up waterways. The program began in 2000 with one Alabama Power employee in Gadsden who sought to improve the Coosa River. Now, more than 56,000 participants work to remove more than 13 million pounds of trash and debris from waterways across the Southeast.
