It is the first quarter of the year for our regions Sheriff’s office. During this time the Sheriff’s office turns their attention to how to continue to keep their citizen’s safe. The Anniston Sheriff’s office will host a citizen’s firearms training at 6:00pm on Thursday at the Sheriff’s office. Deputies will be on hand to tell you about firearm’s safety. There is no need to register and you do not need a firearm present for the training. Deputies will instruct you on when you can and cannot defend yourself under the law. Calhoun County Sheriff, Larry Amerson, started the training 15 to 20 years ago. The Sheriff’s office conducts the training once a quarter.
