Alabama lawmakers have started laying the groundwork for their 2013 session which begins tomorrow. They convened in Montgomery this morning for a series of budget hearings. The legislature’s chief financial expert and state finance director are sharing their outlooks. Lawmakers are also getting a look at information from Medicaid and Corrections, two of the biggest agencies in the General Fund Budget. Legislative leaders say the budget for the new fiscal year looks tight. The budget hearings will continue Tuesday morning with education leaders making their financial presentations. The 2014 Legislative Session officially begins Tuesday at noon.
