Apple Settles with FTC
Apple will refund millions of dollars to consumers for allowing children to make in-app purchases without parental consent. The settlement with the Federal Trade Commission calls for Apple to pay at least $32.5 million. The FTC says Apple failed to tell parents once they enter their Apple passwords for children, there’s a 15 minute window allowing purchases. The settlement also requires Apple to change its billing practices before March. Apple already settled a class action lawsuit by parents who say their children were able to rack up charges.
