Adams Elementary Wins Competition in Gadsden

Adams Elementary learned about the history of electricity in the state and also gets recognized as winners in a competition. The students put on a video re-enactment. The Elementary had a pizza party to celebrate the success. Leah Atkins who wrote the curriculum and trained local teachers was there and shared the winning entry. The six-page newspaper, entitled the Gadsden Centennial, was distributed to public and private schools in Gadsden, Attalla and Etowah County. The implementation of this program helped to offer tutoring, mentoring and career education for the students. Adams Elementary receives a grant from Alabama Power. The grant money will be used to reward the students with an educational fieldtrip.
