Governor Robert Bentley awards more than $96,000 dollars to the DeKalb County Commission to help combat drug-related crimes. The grant will help continue the efforts of the Drug and Major Crimes Task Force. The task force investigates arrests and prosecutes drug offenders. It’s made up of representatives from the Sheriff’s Office, the Fort Payne Police Department and the District Attorney’s Office. The Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs is administering the grant from funds made available to the state by the U.S. Department of Justice.
