Harmon Out at White Plains

In high school coaching news, the Calhoun County Board voted tonight to terminate White Plains head coach Heath Harmon. Harmon spent the last five seasons as the Wildcats head coach with a 23-37 overall record. Before that, he led Andalusia to an 11-2 record in 2007. Harmon also had head coaching stops at Munford and Cordova. White Plains finished 5-5 last season winning their last two games. So far there is no official word on a replacement.

Martin to Ohatchee

Meanwhile, the search for a head coach at Ohatchee High School is over. The County Board approved Scott Martin to the position tonight. Martin spent the last two seasons at Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa making the playoffs in both seasons. Before his time with the Patriots, he served as head coach at Calera. Martin will look to revive the proud Indian football program that has not won more than 5 games since 2007.
