We've talked about neighbors helping neighbors, but here's a case of neighbors helping animals. Wesley Gray and his family were enjoying a day off and playing in the snow near their home in the Tillison Bend community yesterday, when Gray's wife Sabrina heard a squealing sound that sounded like a child in trouble. What they found was a dog that had wandered out onto the ice-covered Coosa River and fallen through the ice. Gray reacted quickly - grabbing a pair of waders from his truck and heading straight for the water. Gray says that the dog was in the freezing water for a total of about 15 minutes. Once the dog was rescued, another neighbor wrapped the dog in blankets and sheltered the dog in their home. The dog's owner was found after the event was posted on Facebook and the dog was returned safely to its home.
