Suspects Arrested in Gadsden

 On Sunday, a Gadsden man was found dead in his girlfriend’s apartment from an apparent gunshot wound to the head.  It seemed to be a home invasion and robbery gone bad. Tyree Young and Dexter Harris, both of Gadsden remain in the Etowah County Jail pending warrants for Capital Murder of William Meadows on no bond.  The two men apparently gained access to the couple’s apartment, searched a couple of rooms, and then Meadow’s girlfriend said she heard what sounded like someone getting punched then a single gunshot The Gadsden police responded to the assault call around 7:15am at College Manor Apartments.  Young and Harris quickly left the scene.  They were both arrested within an hour at a residence in the twelve-hundred block of Florence Avenue.  Meadows was taken to Gadsden Regional Medical Center and then to UAB where he died around 10:00pm last night.
