Study of Weekend Weight Gain
Super Bowl game day snacking is known to be the second biggest day for eating, second only to Thanksgiving. And, now new research states that there may be a reason your favorite pair of jeans hug you tighter after a weekend food binge. Researchers find that almost everyone loses weight on weekdays and gains weight on weekends. Cornell University researchers, in collaboration with international scientists, have looked into the impact that the seven-days-a-week human cycle has on weight. The study participants were categorized according to relative weight changes. There were weight losers, weight gainers, and weight maintainers. Based on results, weight variations between weekdays and weekends should be considered normal instead of weight gain. Researchers claim that some indulging during the weekends is not harmful. But, for successful weight loss it is important to notice the weight changes and take steps to reverse the upward trends after the weekend.
