The American Red Cross needs individuals to give blood and platelets. Blood from people with types O, A negative and B negative are in the shortest supply. It is essential that the Red Cross have blood every day. Although, an estimated thirty-eight percent of the U.S. population is eligible to donate, less than ten percent actually do each year. The organization supplies hospitals with blood for accidents and operations when necessary. A blood donor can expect to give about one pint of blood and several small test tubes. Jacksonville State University is sponsoring a SGA – Student Government Association- Blood Drive tomorrow and Thursday in the third floor of the Theron Montgomery Building from 11:30am through 4:30pm.
