Fatal Car Wreck

A Tuesday afternoon wreck in Cherokee County kills two people and injures two others. Police say two cars collided head-on near the Dollar General on Highway 411 North at County Road 113. A 2002 Ford Mustang driven by Centre resident Terry LeCroy collided with a 2013 Chevrolet being driven by Lisa Mackey of Sand Rock. LeCroy was pronounced dead at the scene. Mackey was transported by ambulance to Redmond Regional in Rome and then transferred to Erlanger. According to family members, she is currently listed in critical condition. A passenger in the Mustang, Carrie LeCroy, was transported by ambulance to Floyd Medical Center in Rome, for treatment of her injuries. The name of the other individual who was killed in the crash is being withheld pending a notification of next of kin. The accident remains under investigation by Alabama State Troopers.
