Local Warming Centers

The unpredictable and hazardous wintry weather still has many communities opening shelters to meet the need for warmth and protection for the area’s most vulnerable.  Here’s a reminder of open warming stations in our region. 

The Salvation Army on Noble Street in Anniston will have a warming station open until 4:00pm on Wednesday.   The American Red Cross is operating a warming station at the Oxford Civic Center.  It will be open until Wednesday, February 12th at 5:00 pm.  For Etowah County, The American Red Cross will has a warming shelter at First Baptist Church of Gadsden.  It is open until noon on Wednesday.

In Cleburne County, warming stations will be open at the Heflin Civic Center and at Heflin Baptist Church.  Cherokee County residents can shelter at The Cherokee Health & Rehab Community Training Room, and the Munford Volunteer Fire Department off of Hwy 21 in Munford will also be open tonight.  St. Clair County will have two warming stations - the Pell City Courthouse and the Ashville City Courthouse.
