Georgia Burglary Suspect Arrested

Cherokee County Sheriff's deputies make an arrest in relation to several pharmacy burglaries in Floyd County, Georgia. David Dewayne Brown of Birmingham was arrested in Cedar Bluff last night following a pursuit. Sheriff Jeff Shaver says that deputies spotted a vehicle matching the description of the suspect's at approximately 3:30am on Alabama Highway 9 near Cedar Bluff. As Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle, two passengers jumped out and fled on foot. Brown was the driver of the vehicle. He was taken into custody and charged with possession of a controlled substance and attempting to elude a police officer. Brown was transported to the Cherokee County Detention Facility where he remains on a hold for Floyd County. Authorities are still on the look-out for the other two suspects.
