Man Leads Cop On High Speed Chase

Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office arrests a Centre man after he leads deputies on a high-speed chase. Dusty Rogers of Center is charged with numerous traffic violations, assault, attempting to elude, and resisting arrest. Rogers was in a suspicious vehicle parked in front of an old store building when several deputies noticed the vehicle. The suspect then attempted to flee. Rogers led officers on a chase into Georgia and then returned to Alabama. deputies patrol vehicle was damaged in the chase. A passenger in Rogers' vehicle was injured in the accident and transported to a local hospital for treatment. Rogers was transported to the Cherokee County Detention Facility, where he is being held pending a bond hearing.
