Regulatory Bill

Friday, February 21, 2014

The state senate has unanimously approved a bill that takes away the public service commission’s authority to handle complaints from landline phone customers. Alabama’s largest phone company, AT&T, pushed the measure. The company says the regulation is no longer needed because the industry now offers plenty of service options for customers who are unhappy with their current phone service providers. The bill now goes to Governor Robert Bentley for his signature.
