In other council business related to the upcoming municipal election, the Gadsden council also approved new voting districts and polling places for city voters. The voting districts had to be changed in order to reflect last year’s changes to the city’s council districts. The district changes then required that a couple of the city’s polling places be changed as well. The polling location for Box 1-A is moved from the former College Heights Baptist Church in East Gadsden to the Family Life Center of Antioch Baptist Church. The location for Box 3-A is moved from the former 12th Street Baptist Church Gym to the school lunchroom at Gadsden City High School. The voting location for the new Box 3-C will be in the gym of the city’s Thompson Community Center. City officials say that voters will receive postcards in the mail later this summer to make sure they know what district they are in and their appropriate voting location.
