National Pancake Day at IHOP in Oxford

Wednesday, March 5, 2014

For many Alabama Christians, the day before Ash Wednesday has earned the nickname “Pancake Day” or “Pancake Tuesday” over the years. You may be asking yourself…Why eat pancakes? Because they are the perfect way to use up the eggs, fats and milk in the house before you embark on the 40 days of Lenten fasting before Easter. International House Of Pancakes has created a novel and beneficial way to commemorate the day. Today is National Pancake Day at Oxford’s International House Of Pancakes. And it is participating by giving away a short stack of buttermilk pancakes. In return for the free pancakes, guests were asked to consider leaving a donation for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals or other designated local charities.
