First Friday in Gadsden

As the days get longer and thoughts turn to spring, the merchants in Downtown Gadsden officially kick off a new season of First Friday events with the Third Annual Downtown Gadsden Gives Back First Friday. Every year, the First Friday in March is set aside as a day to help local non-profit agencies reach out in the community and spread the word about their specific missions. DGI partners with the United Way to promote the event – and this year – almost two dozen organizations are participating. Broad Street will be blocked off from Third Street to Seventh Street starting at 4:30 tomorrow afternoon. The event will start at 5:00pm and run until7:00pm. Many of the merchants in Downtown will be donating 10% of sales from the night to the United Way and there will be a special performance by the ladies of the Downtown Dance Conservatory as the group prepares for a special trip to London and Paris later this month.
