JSU Women's Basketball Historic Run Ends

The dream run for the JSU women’s basketball team has come to an end. The Gamecocks (playing in their 3rd game in 3 days) faced Belmont in the OVC tournament. The Lady Bruins had a long rest with a double-bye into the semifinals and it showed. With their fresh legs, Belmont jumped out to a 9-0 lead to start the game and never looked back winning 65-50. Candace Morton led JSU with 16 points, Destany McLin added 10. Big picture, JSU's season will be one for the history books. After a 1-27 record last year, JSU completed one of the best turnarounds in the nation finishing with a 14-18 record and there’s a lot to look forward to in the coming years. Belmont will face UT-Martin in the OVC championship tomorrow at 1:00 PM.
