Jacksonville State players with dreams of playing football on its highest level got their chance to prove it on Tuesday. Scouts from 20 NFL teams gathered in Jacksonville today to evaluate a handful of JSU players. The guys went through a gamut of tests including vertical jumps, the 40-yard dash, agility drills, position drills, the broad jump and many others. Pro Day was open to JSU seniors and a few players that are looking for another shot at pro ball including former running back Washaun Ealy. For many JSU players today’s audition will be the last chance they have to impress an NFL team before the draft. Most of the scouts were eager to get a look at Pierre Warren. The defensive back decided to leave school after his junior season and test his potential with this year’s class of prospects. He looked good overall in the drills- showed nice speed and explosiveness. He says he feels confident in his decision to enter this year’s draft. Former JSU players like TJ Heath, Alan Bonner, Ryan Perrilloux and AJ Davis are proof that Jacksonville can be a lanchpad to the NFL and that serves as a bonus in recruiting. The NFL Draft begins on May 8th.
