Dekalb County Intruder Shooting

The Dekalb County Sheriff reports the shooting of an intruder on County Road 1966 in the Whiton community. Randy Hill, of Albertville was at his sons’ residence when he heard a knock at the door. He went to the front door and there was a man that he didn’t know standing in the house. The man at the door is identified as Tony Kitchens of Albertville. Hill and Kitchens had a conversation about Hill’s son that escalated to a physical altercation with Kitchens picking up a flash light and hitting Hill in the face and on the head. Hill fought with the suspect and was able shoot Kitchens in the leg with a shotgun. The Geraldine Police Department later arrived on the scene and assisted Kitchens. He was transported to Marshall medical south and then air lifted to Huntsville Hospital. No charges have been filed at this time. The investigation is still on going.
