Friday, March 14, 2014

In our top story, authorities say they’ve pulled the body of a missing boater from the Coosa River in Childersburg. According to Talladega County Coroner Shaddix Murphy, four teenagers who were fishing yesterday spotted the body near the Riverwalk subdivision. Murphy says the body is that of Revolution Performance Marine company owner, Steve Tripp. Tripp was discovered more than three miles down the river from where he crashed a boat on February 18th. Authorities say Tripp had been test-driving a new boat with passenger, Mark Kent when the crash happened. Investigators say Tripp and Kent were both thrown from the boat. Kent was able to swim to safety and then airlifted to UAB Hospital. He was treated and then released. Tripp had been missing since that crash.
