Hoops Tourney Provides Gadsden Economic Boost

The City of Gadsden is all set to host the Parks and Recreation state championships this weekend. A record 107 teams will participate- making it the most the city has ever hosted. There are 8 divisions of boys and girls teams ranging from 8 to 18 years old. The extra teams in the city also mean extra people spending money around town which makes this tournament a big economic boost for Gadsden and Etowah County as well. The Parks and Rec state tournament got underway this afternoon and runs through Sunday. Admission is just $5.
