House Bill 489

House Bill 489 passes in the Senate committee. It is a bill that will increase by a day the time a woman must wait before she may have an abortion. The extension period will allow women more time to reconsider. A woman considering an abortion will have to wait between consultation and obtaining an abortion from 24 to 28 hours. Three other bills regulating abortion will be voted on by the Senate Health Committee next week. All four bills have already been approved by the House.
