17 year-old Missing Person’s Case in Oxford

The Oxford Police Department announces a break in a missing person’s case. Floyd Hurst of Oxford went missing 17 years ago. Today, officials confirm they have a suspect in custody for the disappearance and presumed death of Hurst. Jack Stovall the 2nd is charged with Capital Murder in connection to the death of Hurst. In 1997, Stovall was a person of interest in an attempted murder-for-hire case. Stovall and Hurst had a working relationship. Hurst went missing when he was last seen leaving his residence on Sunny Eve Road off of eastbound 78 in Oxford, on January 26, 1997. Hurst planned to attend a Super Bowl party at the nearby Red Horse Lounge at the time of his disappearance, but he never showed up at the lounge and was not heard from again.
