Renew Our Rivers at Choccolocco Creek in Talladega County

More than 100 volunteers showed up to help the Choccolocco Creek Watershed Alliance clean up the Choccolocco Creek Watershed on Highway 77 this weekend. The clean-up is part of the annual Renew our Rivers program. It is an Alabama Power initiative that dedicates two weeks to have volunteers help protect the watershed and promote conservation stewardship of waterways in communities across the state. Saturday’s cleanup was the last day for that program, but the Choccolocco Creek Watershed Alliance will be doing more clean ups throughout the year. For more information on how you can help them preserve our community’s natural water resources go to their website at www.choccoloccocreekalliance.org.
