One Anniston housing community is getting a facelift. More than a decade ago the fence at Cooper homes was erected. And, now, with a vote by the Anniston Housing Authority, there are plans to tear it down. According to officials with the Anniston Housing Authority the fence has only two exits and was created to help deter crime. However, it has not always been welcomed by residents and many of them have expressed a desire for it to be removed. There will be a meeting open to the public on April 1st at 6:00pm at the Anniston Meeting Center. The Anniston Housing Authority, the City of Anniston, and the Anniston City Board of Education will come together to discuss a final draft proposal of a plan for the possible replacement of the Cooper Homes community.
