Walking For Heroes in Talladega

Thursday, March 27, 2014

What sacrifices would you be willing to make to honor the service of the men and women of the U-S armed forces? Would you brave the winter’s cold or be willing to walk for hundreds of miles from daybreak to nightfall to bring attention to the enduring legacies and courage of America’s veterans past and present? Well, one man has decided to take on the highways and byways of our nation and walk our country’s roads with a meaningful purpose. Carl Wentworth of Massachusetts is supporting our veterans with his effort to walk across America. He started his walk in Massachusetts and stopped in our region, today. During his visit to our area, Wentworth was invited to ride around the racetrack at the Talladega Superspeedway and tour the International Motorsports Hall of Fame. Wentworth plans to finish his walk in Los Angeles, California by July 4th. You can follow him at his Facebook page at Walking For Heroes. If you’d like to make a donation to Wentworth’s cause he requests that instead of donating to Walking For Heroes you should make a donation to any veteran’s service association.
