CERT Training in Gadsden

Spring is the perfect time to be concerned with severe weather preparedness and the perfect time to take part in a CERT training course offered by the Gadsden-Etowah County EMA. CERT stands for Community Emergency Response Training and the spring class is being offered during the first three weeks of May. In many emergency disaster situations, community members with CERT training become the first responders when other emergency personnel can’t get to a scene quickly enough, so they have to have a variety of knowledge in order to help their neighbors efficiently and safely. The early registration period for the spring CERT session is now underway. There is no cost to participate in the training, but you must be prepared to spend two evening per week for three weeks in the training course. To get more information or to register for the classes, call the Gadsden-Etowah County EMA at 256.549.4575.
