Transition University Graduation Reception in Jacksonville

Monday, April 7, 2014

One local program at Jacksonville State University ensures that all students have a better chance at becoming productive members of society. Transition-U, a program that teaches special needs high school students ages18-21 years old how they can contribute to their community while learning what their community can offer them, held its 2nd annual end of the year graduation reception at the Jacksonville Community Center. Transition-U is funded by local classroom's raising money, local businesses donating money, grants, and the support of our Senators and Representatives, but even with that kind of help the life-changing program still needs more funding. If you are interested in donating to the program or starting your own program, contact the Department of Curriculum and Instruction College of Education & Professional Studies at Jacksonville State University at 256-782-8058.
