National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day

Do you have any unused and unwanted prescription medications lingering around your medicine cabinet? If, so, you’ll want to take advantage of an event the Etowah county Sheriff’s Office and Drug Enforcement Unit are putting on. Etowah County’s National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day event will take place on Saturday, April 26th from 10:00AM until 2:00PM at the East Gadsden Walmart. According to event organizers, this opportunity will provide you with a safe way to dispose of those old medications. Organizers also say that you won’t have to worry about the security of the turned in drugs because a law enforcement officer will remain with the drug disposal box at all times, and the drugs that are turned in will be treated as evidence and properly disposed of. There is no cost if you are going to participate in the program. Other Prescription Take-Back collection sites will be at the Jacksonville Police Department, Quintard Mall, and the Heflin Police Department also on April 26th at 10:00AM.
