Sight Savers America’s Kidcheck Program

Sight Savers America’s Kidcheck Program celebrated its 6th Anniversary and its more than 100,000 health screenings in Alabama with health screenings for youth in our community. KidCheck Plus is a department of Sight Savers America and provides head to toe school-based health screenings to children in underserved parts of Alabama. The Pike family had their son screened through KidCheck Plus and discovered he had issues with his hearing. Amy Pike talked to TV24 about how the KidCheck program has been a benefit to her family. The free health screenings to children across Alabama are given through partnerships with 20 college nursing schools across the state. Some of the health screening checkpoints that KidCheck provides include: Height and weight, Blood Pressure and temperature, Vision, Dental and hearing, and Heart and lung sounds.
