A Federal judge today sentences Talladega County Allen Morgan to six years in prison for attempting to hire a member of the Ku Klux Klan to murder a black neighbor he suspected of raping his wife. U.S. District Judge Karon O. Bowdre sentenced Morgan on one count of using and causing someone else to use interstate facilities and travel with the intent to commit a murder-for hire. He must serve three years of supervised release following completion of his prison term. The government recommended Morgan receive the maximum statutory penalty of 10 years in prison.
