Pell City Man Drowns in Logan Martin Lake

An 87-year-old Pell City man drowns in Logan Martin Lake. According to Pell City Police Chief Greg Turley, Charlie Hester’s body was recovered Saturday, after an extensive search by the Pell City police, fire, marine police and officers with the St. Clair County Sheriff's. Hester had a history of dementia and his family notified authorities that he had gone missing and was believed to be in the water. Authorities say they found Hester’s body off the shore of his Seddon point property. Officials say it appears to be an accidental drowning.
