Students Honored for Academic Achievement in Oxford

The Oxford City School Board of Education recognizes three very intelligent and gifted seventh grade students from Oxford Middle School for their academic achievement. Oxford Middle School gifted and talented seventh graders have been participating in the Duke University Talent Identification Program which qualifies seventh grade students through previous testing and scores to take college entrance exams like the ACT assessment alongside high school students. The middle school has two students who are national winners in the program for scoring above average and they were acknowledged today. According to Oxford City Board of Education officials and the students, the school system has worked hard to help students reach their highest potential and this achievement is an indicator of the whole school’s success. The Duke TIP seventh Grade Talent Search participants will be able to go on and continue testing throughout high school and improve their already high scores.
