Auburn University Cancels Classes for One Day

Thursday, April 17, 2014

Auburn University cancels classes over a threat on campus. The unsubstantiated threat came from a threatening message posted in a campus restroom. University authorities don’t believe the threat to be credible. But the school did suspend classes and other normal operations for the day because of anxiety among students and parents. Authorities also increased the police presence around campus. Posts circulating on social media show what appears to be a handwritten threat of a campus "rampage". A university alert went out after the posts began spreading. Today is the seventh anniversary of the attack in which a student gunman killed 32 students and faculty at Virginia Tech University.
