What appeared to be a routine investigation into a vandalism call by Dekalb County Sheriff authorities leads to a full-scale police pursuit of the suspect by law enforcement and police tracking dogs. According to a press release from Dekalb County Sheriff, Jimmy, Harris, authorities responded to a call on County Road 38 about a car being at a residence. Authorities checked the report out and later attempted to leave when a vehicle appeared from behind the residence and met the deputies. The suspect, Jason Townson of Section, wielded a weapon out of the window of the vehicle and attempted to get authorities to hit him. The suspect then left the residence and the pursuit began. Section, Fyffe, and Geraldine Police department officials assisted in the pursuit as the suspect led authorities into Jackson County. After reaching Jackson County, the suspect left the vehicle and fled on foot. Tracking dogs were brought in to assist with the search and Townson was captured at a relative’s house in Jackson County.
