Four Weaver Athletes Sign Scholarships

Four athletes at Weaver High School made their college decisions official on Tuesday. Seniors Chris English, Daniel Wilson, Austin Jennings, and Fernando Forbes signed their letters of intent at the school library marking a big day in program history. English was the lone basketball signee. He is headed to Gadsden State to play for Todd Ginn. English has played on the varsity level since the eighth grade leading the Bearcats to multiple appearances in the regionals. English says he’s ready to take his talent to the next level. Meanwhile, Daniel Wilson, Austin Jennings, and Fernando Forbes all signed football scholarships today. Wilson is headed to Lenoir Rhyne University in North Carolina where he will play linebacker. Jennings and Forbes will reunite once again on the college level. Both guys signed on to play at Faulkner University in Montgomery. Daryl Hamby is the head coach for both varsity football and basketball, so he has seen all four guys develop and says they have been great ambassadors for Weaver athletics.
