Pound the Pavement Against Childhood Obesity 5K in Jacksonville

Miss Jacksonville State University is hosting a 5-K Run tomorrow at the university’s campus to help stomp out childhood obesity. The run, titled, Pound the Pavement Against Childhood Obesity, will begin at 9:00AM with a start at the Theron Montgomery Building. Jayme Wagner, Miss J-S-U ,was inspired to adopt the fight against childhood obesity as her platform because she was reared in a home that encouraged self-confidence and a healthy lifestyle. She hopes this event will encourage children and their parents to become more active. The first 100 people to register will receive a free t-shirt and children 7-years-old through 13-years-old can participate for free with an adult. The registration fee is $25.00 and you can still register at Jacksonville State University’s website at www.JSU.EDU, just go to the Student Life link and then Miss J-S-U.
