Firefighters, police officers, and E-M-S specialists are in constant training to make sure they can handle the surprises associated with an emergency call. Multiple agencies - including the Anniston Fire Department, the Oxford Fire Department, the Anniston Police Department, and personnel with the Oxford E-M-S and the sheriff’s office - gathered to participate in a special vehicle simulation, today. The Anniston Fire Department is the regional training site for Alabama Fire College and the college provided them a training vehicle for two weeks to teach professionals about emergency driving. The driving simulator they trained in realistically simulates ambulances, police cars, and fire trucks. All participants will get a training certificate from the Alabama Fire College. The training with the simulator will go on for one more week and if your agency is interested in participating please call the Anniston Fire Department, Station 1 for more information.
