Prescription Drug Take Back

Old prescription medication can prove hazardous to your health and disposing of that medication properly is sometimes a difficult task. National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day is an event that will help you dispose of your old medications properly. Event sites will be at convenient locations around our region on April 26th from 10:00AM until 2:00PM. According to event organizers, you won’t have to worry about the security of the turned in drugs because a law enforcement officer will remain with the drug disposal box at all times, and the drugs that are turned in will be treated as evidence. Calhoun County prescription take-back sites will be at the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, the Jacksonville Police Department, and Quintard Mall. Etowah County’s National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day event will take place at the East Gadsden Walmart. There is no cost if you are going to participate in the program.
